HONORS -  AWARDS - RECOGNITION
August 19, 2007 -  Dallas Home Builders' Association selected Heather's Home as the Best Green Built Home in the DFW area. The honor was bestowed the Ferrier Custom Homes at Dallas Builders' Association's annual Vesta Awards ceremony in Dallas.
 
Heather's Home was the first home in Texas to receive LEED certification and the third home in the nation to receive Platinum (the highest) LEED certification.
 
Heather's Home was also awarded gold, the highest honor in the EnergyValue Housing Awards, by the National Association of Home Builders, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and the U S Department of Energy.  
 
In May 2007, Heather’s Home was honored with two awards from the Structural Insulated Panel Association: Best Home under 3,000 square feet & Best Overall Winner. The Building Excellence Awards recognize SIPA members who build innovative and energy efficient buildings using structural insulated panels (SIP’s). To be eligible, all entries must use SIP’s for at least 50% of the building envelope. Entries were evaluated on energy efficiency, design and structural engineering innovation, and other SIP-related factors that contributed to the success of the project.
